Happy New Year everyone!
We have returned and are settling back in from a wonderful trip south to see family and friends. It was a blessed time of showing our boys their roots, and our exchange student enjoyed seeing more of the U.S., including four more states. Thanks for prayers!
Just a quick update on the adoption process- we are scheduled for a home study visit with our social worker in her area on January 24th. Our last items to gather for the home study include online parent training and a couple of last documents. Perhaps we will just have one more visit? It's moving along well!
New Day recently posted a really sweet photo of Henry (see below) and we received a medical update on him. Please keep him in prayers, that his muscles would strengthen so that he continues to improve in walking. He is such a cutie, isn't he?
With the new year comes new goals and changes inevitably, but what has not changed is our love for this darling child and the increasing desire to bring him home. While we juggle many responsibilities, completing this adoption process in a timely manner is of utmost importance to us. Please pray with us for everything to come together as it should. We appreciate the love and support more than you can know.
And praise God that the Adoption Tax Credit was made permanent! This is a huge help to many families that could not afford adoption otherwise.
If you are looking for a great read to learn more about orphans in China, Silent Tears by Kay Bratt is excellent. She has also written fiction novels set in that part of the world and more on those can be found at kaybratt.com. The author Millie Nelson Samuelson is also one of my favorites. For some reason, I love any kind of novel set in China:)
